Dear Friends and Fans:
My dad, Dave Iglar, has gotten positive news from his doctors! Looks like his cancer treatments have been effective, and we're hoping to continue hearing more good news. In the meantime, Dave is continuing to rock stages across the region, and he's even planning a new album of original music--because as he would say--"Let's hurry up and live!"
Big thanks to the many of you have have offered so much support. You can scroll down to leave a note in our Guestbook (messages are public), or you can send Dave a private e-mail.
All the best,
(Updated Sept. 2013)
Dave-Aid ThanksMESSAGE FROM ANDREA:
Wow! A huge thank-you to all of the friends, family, fans and fellow musicians who participated in the Dave-Aid concert & dinner April 28 and helped make it a smashing success for my dad, guitarist Dave Iglar. It truly was a Rock-n-Roll Guitarnival! We welcomed about 240 people and did even better than expected raising money through ticket sales, raffles and the basket auction. Your heartfelt presence and support touched and honored Dave. It’s a day we always will remember.
A very special thanks goes to the staff at Joey D’s Bar & Grille in Harmar—especially Jason, Amanda, Aubrey and Mr. Joey D. himself—for supplying the delicious food and good-vibes venue, providing hospitality, and partnering with Coors Light. (www.joeydsharmar.com & Facebook)
Our musicians volunteered their time to put on legendary performances that made for an unforgettable concert for Dave. They are (in order of appearance):
Bill Ali Band w/ Matt Barranti (www.billali.com)
Miss Freddye & Her Band (on Facebook)
David Tauberg & Mike South of theCAUSE (www.thecausejams.com) & Rod Miller
Eugene Morgan (Eugene & the Nightcrawlers)
Gary Ripper (Billy the Kid & the Regulators)
Pete Hewlett & Scott Anderson (www.hewlettanderson.com)
Mark Charitan (www.myspace.com/theprowlersakron)
DeAnna Dawn Denning (www.deannadawndenning.com)
The Dave Iglar Band (www.daveiglar.com & Facebook)
Dave Iglar gave 110 percent and put on a helluva show, as usual. His inspirational words, peppered with his unique sense of humor, reminded us laughter and friends are the best medicine.
We couldn’t have done it without our amazing, hardworking staff of Dave-Aid volunteers who did an awesome job with the tickets, auction, raffles, American Cancer Society materials, setup and teardown:
Barone family (Cheri, Sam, Rachel & Dom)
Kim & Justin Gentile
Susan DeLuca & Vic Polk
Tam & Rod Miller
Gina Baker, Sally Baker & family
The Dave Iglar Band’s Mark DeMeno, Chuck Simon (firstname.lastname@example.org), D-Kat and, of course, Dave were instrumental (so to speak) in setting up and running the stage.
