Andrea plays the blues on New Year's Eve Andrea Iglar was a featured guest with Miss Freddye & Blue Faze, opening New Year's Eve for Chicago slide guitarist and blues harpist Studebaker John and his bassist Bob Halaj and drummer Paul Ashford. Andrea played tenor sax with Miss Freddye's band, and sat in with the Chicago band, trading licks with Studebaker John. Dave Iglar Band and the crowd at the Hon-Honi Bar had a wild night June 25 in Deep Creek, Maryland! You can view live video from the show that was streamed online from a camera mounted in the club. (Looks like some kind of net fell over half the camera, but you can scroll through the night to listen and get a sense of the rock-n-roll energy and the wild crowd.) Come on down south of the border to see the band on Friday, Aug. 5.
Band premieres @ two venues May 6 & 7
Dave Iglar Band will perform at two new-to-us venues the first week of May--one in the North Hills, one in the West Hills. The acoustic-electric trio with Dave, Mark & Andrea will be at Elwood's Pub near Deer Lakes Park on Friday, May 6. Then the band will play electric rock & blues at the Hop House in Green Tree on Saturday, May 7. Hope to see you there!
Band entertains blues fans Dave Iglar Band had the pleasure of performing at the Blues Society of Western PA's 7th Annual Blues Challenge at the Green Tree Clarion on Sunday, April 10. The band is proud to have been one of the 16 groups to showcase their talents for an enthusiastic crowd of 100s of blues fans and fellow musicians. Dave Iglar Band's 20-minute set included the originals "Kangaroo Jump" and "Safecracker Blues" as well as Van Morrison's "Precious Time" and Roy Buchanan's "Messiah." Thanks to our fans who came out to support the show, and to the new listeners who we hope to see again soon!

Band to participate in Blues Challenge
Dave Iglar Band will participate in the Blues Society of Western PA's annual Blues Challenge on Saturday, April 9. We will perform a 20-minute set around 3pm...then head over to the Mousetrap for our evening show! Sixteen area acts will perform at the Blues Challenge, to be held from 1pm-11pm at the Greentree Clarion . Winners will compete in the international challenge in Memphis. Thanks to the BSWPA for supporting local music.

Members of Dave Iglar Band helped raise more than $3,000 and 1,200 pounds of food for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank by performing at the Blues for Food concert at Domenico's in Cranberry, PA on Feb. 20, 2011.
